Beef Chow Mein (Chinese - Main Course) Recipe

Soft egg noodles stir-fried with thinly sliced beef, a variety of vegetables, and a savory sauce. It's a classic and satisfying Chinese noodle dish.
Ingredients:
  • Soft egg noodles - 10.5 oz (300g)
  • Beef - 14 oz (400g)
  • Red pepper - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Carrot - 1
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Soy sauce - 4 tbsp
  • Oyster sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Sesame oil - 2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
Instructions
  • Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • Drizzle with 1 tbsp of sesame oil before serving.
  • Slice the beef into thin strips and marinate with 2 tbsp of soy sauce and 1 tbsp of sesame oil for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the vegetables by slicing the red pepper, onion, and carrot into thin strips, and mincing the garlic.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
  • Add another 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to the wok. Add the garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  • Add the sliced vegetables to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until they are cooked to your liking.
  • Add the cooked egg noodles and the oyster sauce to the wok and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Return the beef to the wok, add 2 tbsp of soy sauce, and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
